Website #1: Blitzkrieg ("Lightning War")

Although the hurt Allied forces, during this research I found out that this was a very good tactic and If the US had tried to use this, the war may have gone faster. To start of, "Nazi Germany lead by Hitler, did not want a long drawn out war like WWI and wanted success quickly and by surprise" (Holocaust Encyclopedia 2) The completed much of this tasks to defeat its opponents in a series of short campaigns. This was and easy and very successful way that Germany would take over mos of Europe. I also found out during this research that this attack was very fast and short to pierce through enemy lines. They called this fast but victorious battle style the Blitzkrieg, or Lightning Wars. Lightning war meaning that this attack was suppose to be as fast as lightning, and to their furthest extent this was almost as fast as lightning. This tactic would have a concentration of all forces in one small and specific area including foot soldiers, tanks, planes, and artillery to hit their target" (Holocaust Encyclopedia 2).This attack was considered very successful because "Germany successfully used the Blitzkrieg tactic against Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Yugoslavia, and Greece" (Holocaust Encyclopedia 2). The only country they attacked but the tactic did not work in was Great Britain. My analysis of this website and what it taught me is that the tactic of Blitzkrieg proved to be disastrous on all allied forces but was a very ingenious assault tactic because of its high volume attack quickly piercing the enemy line.
Website #2: Blitzkrieg

The Textbook Definition to "Blitzkrieg" is "a method of warfare whereby an attacking force spearheaded by a dense concentration of armored and motorized or mechanized infantry formations, and heavily backed up by close air support" (Wikipedia 2). Even though this a very good tactic, it proved to be very disastrous towards allied forces, It was very effective. This tactic used correctly multiple times by Nazi Germany was a huge success because "this allowed them to dislocate them using speed and surprise, and then encircle them" (Wikipedia 2). This war was one of the fist wars with modified and easier to use technology including tanks, airplanes, artillery, and many other Military grade weaponry. "This performance seemed to be a "spearhead" attack allowing tons of soldiers to attack a thin layer of stretched out defense" (Wikipedia 2). My analysis of this website and what it taught me is that this was considered a method off attack rather than a strategy or tactic. This showed that the Germans during WW2 thought all tactics of war was actually fair game for them and they thought that this wasn't a problem and a disadvantage towards allied forces. I thought that the US should have used this and made this war end a lot quicker.
Website #3: Blitzkrieg Military tactic

While Nazi Germany were the ones to perfect this tactic of Blitzkrieg or Lighting War, "it was actually formed by Prussian military tactics in the early 19th century" (Boundless 1). Blitzkrieg is the actual translation of Lighting War. They used this term because this was a fast moving attack that included a large military force to spear through a small area of spread out defense and encircle them either killing them or capturing them. This attack works all throughout the war, but for some reason even after plenty of Successes, Great Britain did not fall to the strategic plan of warfare. This form of Warfare was tested by the Germans during the Spanish Civil War in 1938 and against Poland in 1939 proving proved to be a formidable combination of land and air action to win over enemy countries" (Boundless 1). As used by Germany, "blitzkrieg had considerable psychological, or "terror" elements, such as the noise-making sirens on dive-bombers to affect the morale of enemy forces" (Boundless 1). While this attack was deadly enough physically, It effected the soldiers mentally as well. In my research, I found out that many everyday sounds and actions we take for granted now a days still effects soldiers coming back home because they think that the war is still going on. This is a disorder that effects many Soldiers, police officers, and fireman called "PTSD" or Post-Dramatic Stress Disorder. Lack of sleep and paranoia is common side effects from this. My analysis of this website and what it taught me is that even with Nazi Germany being as ruthless as possible with the blitzkrieg, they would also torture the allies with mental sounds and images. This is very sad because many soldiers who have come home are effected by this to this day.b
