Website #1: History of Poland (1939–45)
This is a valid website to use for this project because it is a .org site, It was updated last on April 30th, 2015, and there are alot of hyperlinks that are working.
When I watched the WW2 movie, The Pianist, I saw how bad poland was treated and how destroyed it became by the hands of the nazis, but when I actually researched this topic it showed how Hitler could control all these people and saw that a certain type of people as because of who they were. During World War II, "Poland was devastated the most because of its huge presence of Jewish People occupying many cities" (Wikipedia 1) Poland was invaded by Nazi Germany on 1st of September,1939 and by the Soviet Union on the 17th of September. Polish citizens suffered enormous human and material losses. Not only Jewish people, but even Non-Jewish people who were attacked in the crossfire and during Bombing runs."The Nazis planned a permanent elimination of any form of Polish statehood and even a longer-term destruction of the Polish nation" (Wikipedia 1) An estimated 3,000,000 Jewish civilians were killed duirng the occupation of Poland by Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia. All Jewish people would be shoved into small, hazardous areas of town and walled off from the outside world. These were the Jewish Ghettos. "From 1939 till the end of the war, buildings would be burned and taken down, many people died in Ghettos and Camps" (Wikipedia 1), and the country would have to start back with nothing once the war ended. My analysis of this website and what it taught me is that Hitler not onyl destroyed homes, buildings, and landmarks of Jewish People because he did not like them, but he destroyed them slowly by starting with taking aware their rights that should have been given and kept since birth. This later turned in to th mass killings of Jewish People just because they were considered a non-aryan race.

"Hitler's first move of power was to sign a nonaggression pact with Poland in January 1934" (Holocaust Encyclopedia 1). Almost everyone had to know that they were not telling the truth about that by used this as a way to keep the peace for a little longer. Hitler most likely did this because at the end of WW1, Germany not only had to pay their war reparations and take full blame for starting WW1, but also had to lose part of the territory along side russia as a punishment. This land created the new formed country we know know as Poland and Hitler wanted it back. On the first of September in 1939, Germany finally attacked Poland. The reason why they could do this is because "The German-Soviet Pact of August 1939, which stated that Poland was to be partitioned between the two powers, enabled Germany to attack Poland without the fear of Soviet intervention" (Holocaust Encyclopedia 1). It only took a few weeks for Nazi Germany to sweep through the Polish military with ease. Another side question that could also be asked is how forcefully did Poland really push back against the Germans and if they did at all. I could see if no one wanted to attack the germans and prevent them from capturing them because they were so widely know as having and extrodinary military. Germany destroyed most of the country packing lots of German soliders, with more than 2,000 tanks and over 1,000 planes (Holocaust Encyclopedia 1). This allowed them to break through any defense and advanced on the capital of Warsaw. My analysis of this website and what it taught me is that Poland was not only sweped by the powerful German military, but was also split in half with the other big military powerhouse of Russia. These both being very anti-semetic countries, the Large jewish population of Poland would be severly damaged but Camps and hard labor.
Website #3: Poland WW2 Timeline
Even though this is a .com, it is a valid website to use for this project because there is a way to contact the the authour via Google+, it was last updated October 25th, 2014, and has plenty of working hyperlinks.
"There were a total of 77 total large scale events in Poland during the course of WWII" (Second World War History 1) It all started on September 1st, 1939 when Germany sent Airborne soldiers into Poland's defensive targets. Then later, at approximately 0600 hours, 50 Nazi German Military groups made up of Army group north and south invaded Poland. 5 days after the surprise attack due to the pressure, the Polish Government fled Warsaw and on the 8th of September German soldiers got to the outskirts of Warsaw, taking over the country in less than 10 days" (Second World War History 1). All seemed to be peaceful even though some laws had been passed until around November 26th, 1940 when the Jewish Ghettos would actually begin construction. Through all of these years of mutiny, some Jewish Men started to revolt and kill Germans, but were easily taken down. The country was in complete terror physically and morally throughout the entirety of the war and was known as a big hot spot for both Allies and Axis powers. "After years of terror, on July 31st, 1944, the Soviet military begins to converge on Warsaw Russia" (Second World War History 1).This boosted the morale of many people in Poland and gave every single person a sense of hope the closer they got to the capital. My analysis of this website and what it taught me is that having an entire timeline of really shows a broad perspective of the entire time Poland was taken over, attacked, and finally freed from this oppression. My experiences with the tragedies and heartbreaks that happened in Polind during WW2 was very limited, but the Russians had enough time with their "peace pact" knowing they would have to help the people of Poland".
